Say Goodbye to Handheld Computers! 

your computer will be in your skull(Brains)

Computers have greatly revolutionized. You remember the ENIAC; the first computer to be operated by a single person, back in 1946. Computers then hit the homes in the 1980s.

It wasn't so long that they landed on the laps, then the pocket and now we have them on the wrist! In modern science laboratories, computers being embedded in the eye, is not news anymore. what then makes you think that we won't have them in the brain?

A company called Neuralink which is owned by Elon Musk(founder of PayPal) of recent is working on brain implants to have the machine interface woven into the brain. Elon Musk refers to this concept as neural lace. Once functional, such implants can enable the wearer tap into the internet and all its computational power. 

Neuralink is not alone, another very ambitious gaint in this game is a firm called Kernel. The firm was founded in October 2016 by Bryan Johnson. This is the man who was in the same money payment business like PayPal. He sold his payment company which was known as braintree to PayPal in 2013. The technology entrepreneur also depicts a future of self driven cars and intelligent machines that can detect and solve our needs before we ask! 

Mr. Musk, in February, 2017, said that he thought meaningful interfaces between the brain and computation were 5 years away. 

The two companies, Neuralink and kernel, basing on their similar objectives have also established the possibility to completely wash away neural diseases formerly known as incurable using the computers embedded in the brain. Such diseases include Alzheimer's disease and the Stroke. Both of which are known to bring about permanent loss of memory. Do u see how one will be able to read and write information to the brain using this development in technology? This has only been true for science fiction movies, however time has come to have it in reality! 

One may look at the computer having it's way into the brain as something very complex to be realized due to the very sofiscated way the brain functions. Polina Anikeeva and her colleagues at Massachusetts Institute of Technology wrote that although sizes of devices have been brought down enough to the extent that insertion in the brain can be considered, big challenges lie ahead. 

However, the main players behind this development in technology seem to be extremely determined.
